Bagley Farms is committed to raising purebred Braunvieh genetics with a goal of producing quality over quantity …every time. We strive to raise optimal genetics, offering both black and polled Braunvieh as well as traditional Braunvieh cattle.

pole barn photoOur farm is located in the rolling hill country near Dalton, Ga., at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest Georgia. We have been in the commercial cattle business for several years, primarily raising Black Angus-cross cattle. In 1992, we discovered Braunvieh cattle and purchased a bull to see what the breed had to offer our commercial herd. We were so amazed by the performance of the Braunvieh-influence calves that we decided to purchase more Braunvieh genetics. Now, we are 100% committed to raising Braunvieh seedstock. Our goal is to produce quality over quantity…every time.

Currently, our herd consists of 50 purebred Braunvieh, 50 percentage Braunvieh, 12 registered Angus and 20 commercial females. We strive to raise optimal genetics, offering both black and polled Braunvieh as well as traditional type Braunvieh cattle.

At Bagley Farms, our females are the foundation of our program. We have purchased some of the best polled females in the breed in the last few years. Additionally, we have an extensive embryo transfer program where we hope, that with planned matings, we can further develop the number of quality females in our herd.

Bagley Farms pasture photoOur leading herd sire is Power Star 14T, closely followed by Romeo 801 ET. Our newest herd sire is Pure Silver 1206 ET, a homozygous polled Pure Chrome son out of our Miss Silver P408 donor female; his first calves are hitting the ground in spring 2014. All of our herd sires bring calving ease and performance to our herd.

In 2006, we were honored by the Braunvieh Association of America as New Breeder of the Year. At our farm, we are committed to continuing the quest for excellence in each generation of our Braunvieh cattle. To help accomplish this goal, we participate in the annual University of Georgia bull test and Georgia Cattlemen’s Heifer Evaluation & Reproductive Development (HERD) program, where, after the test, all heifers sell bred. We’re the only ranch that have Braunvieh cattle in these two tests.

Stop by the farm, and see our program. Visitors are always welcome.
